| Jenny Dean is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT),
and has been a student of yoga and meditation for many years. She's
discovered that a regular practice (on and off the mat) leads to
an increase in self-awareness, clarity and compassion. Having personally
experienced the life-changing influence of yoga - in ways both subtle
and profound, she feels fortunate to play a role in helping to create
a sacred space where like-minded people can come together, to explore
the workings of their minds, bodies and spirits, in an easy-going,
safe and supportive atmosphere.
As a Social Worker and Corporate Trainer, Jenny has led Wellness
and Stress Management workshops and retreats for hundreds of people
across the country. Her experience includes training with Jon Kabat-Zinn,
Ph.D, best-selling author, and founder of the world-renowned Stress
Management Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
She facilitates Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction programs in both
business and community settings for those interested in transforming
and enriching the quality of their lives, moment by moment.
Grateful to have learned from many nationally-recognized teachers
(as well as her fellow instructors at YogAsylum), she is especially
inspired by her students, who generously share themselves and their
unique journeys as they open their minds and hearts to whatever
unfolds, each time we gather. They make her experience joyful and
fulfilling and are among her greatest teachers. Probably most influenced
by Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, and Kripalu styles of yoga, her classes
also incorporate principles of Mindfulness meditation, tapping into
moment by moment non-judgmental awareness and acceptance.
Jenny encourages her students to trust in their own inherent wisdom
and intuition, and genuinely enjoys the connections that happen
as a result of practicing together. Sharing breathwork, meditation,
intention and yoga can be powerfully healing. It is a precious gift,
an experience she is eternally thankful to be part of.
