How did you get started in yoga?
I have been teaching group fitness classes for many years and started practicing yoga while recovering from a sports injury. At first, I enrolled in teacher training to enhance my own practice. I found yoga to be a powerful tool for physical and emotional transformation. Teaching yoga fulfills my aspiration to inspire others in their journey toward mind/body fitness.

What has it meant to you?
Yoga is a physical and psychological discipline that renews, invigorates and heals the body. Working the mind and body together releases stress and helps us to get in touch with the true essence of ourselves. We continue to learn many lessons on the yoga mat that we carry into other situations.

Who are your teachers, inspirations?
I have learned from many highly regarded teachers but my true inspiration comes from my colleagues and students at Yogasylum.

Styles that influence you?
I have adopted an eclectic blend of traditional hatha yoga poses drawn from Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Viniyoga practices. As a teacher I combine Hatha yoga practice with modern fitness movements and safety guidelines to create an active, flowing, vinyasa style of yoga.

What do you hope to share with your students?
I hope to share a sense of inclusiveness, awareness and a total mind/body workout that allows students to stay safe/injury free and feel challenged, yet successful.
